Privacy Policy
ShutterDoc measures camera shutter speeds entirely on your device. It has no accounts, no servers, and no analytics. Nothing you record is sent anywhere.
What the app collects
Nothing. ShutterDoc does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on our systems, because we do not operate any systems that could receive it. There is no sign-in, no user account, and no identifier that links a measurement to a person.
Camera access
The app asks for permission to use your camera so it can record the high-frame-rate video from which a shutter speed is calculated. Each video is analysed on your device and deleted once it has been measured. It is never uploaded, and the app keeps no copy of it. You can revoke camera access at any time in the Settings app, though the app cannot take a measurement without it.
Measurements stored on your device
What the app keeps is the result of each measurement, not the video: the cameras you add and any details or notes you give them, the readings each test produced, any capping checks you choose to save, and your settings. All of it is held in the app's own storage on your device. It is covered by your device's own protections, and by your iCloud or computer backups if you have those enabled. You can delete individual readings, tests, cameras and saved capping checks inside the app, and deleting the app removes everything.
Sharing a report
You can export a camera's readings as a spreadsheet file (CSV). When you do, iOS hands the file to whichever app or service you pick. What happens to it after that is governed by that service's own privacy policy, not this one. Nothing is shared unless you actively choose to share it.
Purchases
Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details, your name, or your address. We receive only anonymous, aggregated sales figures from Apple, which cannot be traced back to an individual buyer. Apple's handling of your data is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Crash reports and diagnostics
The app contains no analytics or crash-reporting software. If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device settings, Apple may send us anonymised crash and performance data. That sharing is controlled by you, in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements, and can be turned off there.
Third parties
The app contains no advertising, no tracking software, and no third-party software development kits that collect data. Nothing about you is sold or shared with anyone, because nothing about you is collected.
Children
ShutterDoc is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, including children.
Your rights
Data protection law, including the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR, gives you rights to access, correct, and erase personal data held about you, and to complain to a supervisory authority. Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct, or erase. Data held on your own device is under your control and can be removed by deleting a session or the app. If you are in the UK, the supervisory authority is the Information Commissioner's Office.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of the app collects anything, this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the date and version number at the top will change. We keep every previous version and will send you any of them on request.
